In BoTW the main place was in the center of the island, and the three shrines were on the outskirts and I think you could do any them in any order, but ToTK made it so the shrines must be done in order, so why not put a nice short cut from the third shrine to the Temple of Time? Even with 15 hearts and a fully upgraded armor set you're still one-shotted by the same mobs from the beginning of the game, guess you need 40 hearts to make the game even close to fair. Instead Link turned into Legolas because you need to use the bow 80% of the time to just survive the one-hit kills with melee..
